John Zirkle (Baritone-Bass) is a nationally-honored music educator, and the founding Executive and Artistic Director of the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center (WMPAC) in Big Sky, Montana. As an artist, John finds his inspiration from collective music-making. In 2008, he traveled independently for a year in Eastern Europe studying vocal ensembles and choral organizations in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Estonia as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow. He holds certificates and composition awards from the International Summer Academy of Music on Ochsenhausen, Germany; and his composition teachers include Jan Jirasek, Ofer Ben-Amots, and David Hykes. The highlight of his musical theatre background was working alongside Emmy award-winning director Michael Kosarin and Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken on Disney on Broadway's "The Little Mermaid." An enthusiastic choral singer, John also currently sings with the Aoide Chamber Singers in Bozeman, Montana, and with the Bozeman Symphonic Choir.
